I Hear the Drum Rolls Beating

I Hear the Drum Rolls Beating By: Christopher S. Cascaden I hear the drum rolls beating And of men marching I am a soldier of the past My brothers being carried I hear the lord calling down below I understand the beating boots My heart lifts into the sky I hear the bang of seven saluting shots And the cries of comrades gone I lay my hand upon the casket I feel my heart hit the sky but be handed back to me I hear the drum rolls of my lord calling down to me I understand the light given by those who fought and died for me I see greatness in their deeds I feel their boots hit the ground once again in heaven.
