*Inspired by Poet Daniel Turner’s poem: The Sum of Life I have walked through the cold rain And fallen on the floor in pain I have danced through the warm rain Switched from a fast track to a slow lane I have ran for my life to new places Tried to forget bad memories and faces I have held those close to me, near Embraced safety in the face of fear I have battled many sleepless nights But, I have sought the most beautiful sights I have lost many, due to speaking out Truth takes courage, without a shout I have turned a lot of bad into good Created things in all ways that I could From horror to the peace that I have found Some things reach me without a sound Most important of all, I have tried To face all I can, that I have denied To hold gratitude, give and seek the best To have no regrets, so that I may rest Heidi Sands 5/17/18
