I Have the Grace To Move On

I have the grace to move on
To look behind the sweet smiles
And discern the hurtful lies
I have the grace to move on

I have the grace to forgive
The prejudice colored jibe
And superiority vibe
I have the grace to forgive

I have the grace to endure
The most jealous “oversight”
The rejection of the write
I have the grace to endure

I have the grace to overlook
The notion you have of me
The beauty you cannot see
I have the grace to overlook

Do you have grace to discern?
The motive that does hold sway
Which colors the things you say
Do you have grace to discern?

Do you have the grace to dream?
To work for peace and not strife
To add love not hate to life
Do you have the grace to dream?

What a sad lot we would be without our dreams. We can all use a little grace as well.

Oh yes...Indeed. Dreams...that magical place where all is as it should be...at least in daydream land! :) Thanks for the post. :)

We all endure these at times my little Desert Orchid, thing is, dreaming for peace doesn't get the job done, you have to act for real. Take care, Richard

Yes...teacher...but...it's...hard....I'm more of a whiner....Pity parties galore.. Didn't you get the invite? C'mon...come over and then dispense your knowledge. Maybe we will quit the party early! ;)

Be the skater in your heart, through all the tides. Definitely feeling this.

Thanks, Drake...It's not a good day. I wrote this poem some time ago, but never could finish it. Today I decided to try to finish it and post it. Thanks for the visit. I changed the wording in the last stanza....hugs
