I Have No Words

I Have No Words By Richard DJJ Bowdery I have no words to dry your tears, Nor words of balm to soothe your pain, I have no words to lie this truth, To claim I have I cannot feign. Yes my silence may confuse, Be not what you want to hear, But empty words will parch your soul, And sound so hollow in your ear. No comfort dwells in well-worn cliches, Which hang around like startled birds, They can’t compare to love in action, Such precious deeds decry cheap words.

I would suggest replacing silence with active listening. If a person can’t do that then silence is better than cliches or empty words which do nothing to help anyone.
