I Have No Control, But...

I may not have control of your words
But I can have control over my response

I may not have control to stop your violence
But I can protect myself

I may not have control over loving you
But I can acknowledge its death

I may not have control over my memories
But I can replace them with happy thoughts

I may not have control over your movements
But I can find another path

I may not ever see you again
But I can feel your spirit

I may not have control over your pain
But I can tell you it is self induce

I may not have control over your future
But I can control mine
