I Have Been Blessed

I Have Been Blessed

I have been blessed with a daughter to hold
Blessed even enough to last till I’m old
I have been blessed

Pretty in pink in her sweet Momma’s arms
From the moment I saw her I was lost in her charms
Her burps and her smile and her sweet little giggle
Ten perfect pink toes how she laughed when they wiggled

Yes - I have been blessed with a daughter to hold
Blessed even enough to last till I’m old
I have been blessed

Asleep in her bed I would watch and just linger
My sweet little girl had me wrapped round her finger
She had me at DaDA when she first learned to talk
And she held my hand tight as she learned to walk

Yes - I have been blessed with a daughter to hold
Blessed even enough to last till I’m old
I have been blessed

We were like pals – my daughter and I
I would laugh when she laughed and cry when she’d cry
And that beautiful voice as she learned to sing
Just thinking about it still makes my heart ping

Yes - I have been blessed with a daughter to hold
Blessed even enough to last till I’m old
I have been blessed

Now my daughters all grown - getting married today
And another mans here for to take her away
I love my daughter if you haven’t guessed
I have a daughter with whom I’ve been blessed

I have been blessed with a daughter to hold
Blessed even enough to last now I’m old
I have been blessed
