I Have a Thousand Thoughts

I have a thousand thoughts that start the moment I awake.
          and perhaps when I am sleeping;
thoughts, thoughts, thoughts about things, people and places,
          some are nonsense;
but others are a myriad of deep and emotional torrents, oh
      how I wish I could erase those flashes; those
      ugly recollections, but . . .  I have learned in time to
         bury those shades determined that they will not define me.

Robert Lindley May 10, 2019 at 7:30 PM I am with you on this. Oft I find it very hard to turn my brain off in order to go to sleep, and even more so when I wake up at 2 AM. Yes- thousands of thoughts relentless in their surrounding and demanding of me.. Burying is the only way out my friend.. A fav..
