I Hate Long Poems

Give us a break and make it brief
time is such a stealthy thief

Spare us please from meter and line,
your'e not Shakespeare with juicy line

Six is enough don't mess us about, just
write the dam poem, you literate lout!

It depends on whether a long poem grabs your attention from the first line Peter - Armand used to post some fabulous free verse as does Arthur Vaso - I will read long or short poems - the more widely I read the more I learn:-) hugs Jan xx

Tsk... Tsk...Impatient man. We are but mortal souls. But when we hold pen in hand, Great length is not our goal. The words just seem to spill out. That does not make a poet a lout. 6 lines....point made with no disrespect.
