I Hate Cherries

Your broken promises twisted and tied me up like a cherry stem

Afraid that you don’t deserve love or the love that was giving up

So, you steered them away in hopes that they would find another who could be everything they were to you

Because as much as you wanted to be the one to make them happy you told yourself I am too much for them to carry

Saying to yourself I would be a stain in their life, not knowing they were willing to get dirty if it meant being with you

But you ran looking for love never to find it because love was behind chasing you…

p.s. I don’t like cherries…
