I Had Big Plans For Us
i remember the night we first met.
in mia's red mercury,
bonding over a cigarette or three.
april turned to may
and i called you mine in summertime,
listening to hendrix on the sofa.
i always had really big plans for us.
and if it were up to me,
i'd never have to see you leave.
pick me up at my house
and we'd drive around
and you'd tell me "it's better this way".
up to me, roles reversed,
maybe then you'd see my worth,
and i would see a man in love.
and you would have really big plans for us.
