I Got a New Life
I got a new life -
A life to write
More not less than
Giving in-sight...
Having decided
To guide the pen
Page by page
Making new friends...
With letters and words,
Thoughts and ideas
Of people and places
Distant and near...
Enough to recall
From a deep ink well
Inside my head
Striving to spell...
Letter by letter
Word by word
I got a new life
Like a sweet song bird...
Lifting me up
To a higher realm
Where the sky is clear
Devoid of sound...
Where dreams are made
And come alive
Like painting on pallet
New words arrive...
Filling blank pages
As leaves of grass
I got a new life
I think might last...
Lost and alone
Don't call my name
While dancing in shadows
Where mystery plays...
Tricks on the mind
And mirrors of the soul
Reflections that shine
Like silver and gold...
Seeking fortune and freedom
From clouds to waves
A writing life
Is what I've made.
