I Give You Eden

The garden path had led to a clearing way back beyond view
Where, if one lets themselves, escape can be made to paradise
The solitude, the welcoming of sunshine and shade, the foliage
All comes together in harmonious accord, where it provides serenity

It is with anticipation that I wander this path today, hand in hand
As I wish to share the beauty of this haven with the one I adore
I cannot wait to see through your eyes, the beauty they will behold
My breath slows at the thought of your innocence as you take it all in

I’ll see the reflective beauty of the surroundings in the mirrors of your eyes
I’ll hear your breathing as it slows to the pace set by the calming sight
I’ll smile, knowing that I brought you here today to enjoy this with me
This piece of heaven God has bestowed upon us all, this bountiful earth
