I Gazed At the Stars

I gazed at the stars, one summer night,
When all of a sudden, my heart took flight,
With the deepest scars, I summoned the heavens,
Asking why it had to be, that we were apart,
I sat there thinking of you,
Wondering if you were thinking of me too....

A myriad of past dreams, clouded my heart,
Why did destiny make us worlds apart?....

You were the only one who knew me,
And with you,
Is where I longed to be......

I didn't ask to depart from you,
And I could feel you missed me too,
Yet all I knew is my souls tears,
Were lost in worldly fears.....

You were my Beloved,
Yet self created dreams separated me from you,
If I could build a stairway to the highest of heavens,
I'd take you there with me,
And all our pain would cease to be,
And we'd be lost in love eternally.

Thank you for your comment Probir-ji. I think in life, there is no guarantee due to impermanence. Thank you for your kind words :-).
