I Forgot a Poem

Yesterday, yes; yester-day
A poem paid me a brief visit
It was the greatest poem that man ever wrote and read
Greater than Desiderata and The Path Not Taken

It’d have made you cry and laugh in painful pleasure
It’d have negotiated with my gnawing poverty
It’d have endeared me to my future mother of our children
It’d have fetched me modest and kind In-laws

Off it flew!
And left me with vague shadows
Of skeletal memories

wow! soulful! I feel the visit and the sudden leaving of an inspiration...I feel you. Thanks for this piece, I suddenly remember how good it is to be melancholic sometimes. Heyy! I would love to go to your country! I am so fascinated by the people's warm smiles and welcoming hearts! I wish you could tour me...hahaha!

You are most welcome Glenn. But I was the first one to propose a visit. I guess that place gets really cold at winters. Come and I will show you the big equatorial mosquitoes I promised.hahaha; thanks for your comments
