I Fetched

I fetched

the old mirror

and looked at it again

and I did not see a man

instead I saw that little boy

I saw the boy who ran his kite

amazed as it soared in the sky

I saw memories of a life once lived

there is a sense of innocence etched

on the face looking back at me, in the eyes of that little boy

mama, when I am reborn, let me live the life of that little boy

away from the persecution of innocence, away from terror
