I Favour 'Farewell'

I hate good-byes.
There is nothing good 
	in them.
They are too permanent.
Ominous par excellence.
       I said good-bye
              to a friend once,
                 never saw him twice.
No, there is nothing good
       in a good-bye.
              I favour
                     farewell.
