I Fall In Love With People Fast
I fall in love with people fast.
Not men. Usually women. And no, I am not a lesbian.
But we have more in common.
And I fall in love with children, even faster.
Believing their stories, and their eyes.
Believing in them before they believe in themselves.
I fall in love with people fast.
Even the ones on the street I never talk to.
Sometimes we do not have to even make eye contact.
I see them and I instantly adore them.
Maybe their plaid shirt, or their waitress pins.
A toddler’s shrill voice.
I fall in love with people fast.
Instantly and fully in love.
It might be their giggle.
It might be the baby fit they are having to get that candy bar.
It might be the flirtatious way they are looking at their date.
I fall in love with people fast, and I am ever so glad to do it.
