I Failed Her...

I loved her from the start,

so I thought 'til death do us part.

But little did I know that she had other plans.

Plans that my heart couldn't withstand.

Those words that tortured my soul,

and caused my heart to have a emtpy hole.

"I think we should take some time off", is what she said.

Now I sleep uncomfortably as I lay down in my bed.

It's been awhile now, and I haven't heard from you.

Is it that you feel my spirit too ?

Am I causing you to cry so that the tears will make everything become a blur ?

And that question made me realize that I failed her...

This poem flows very well and tells a story. I like the rhyming pattern and the spark it give the poem. Welcome to Poetry Soup and keep writing. Blessings, Joseph
