I Dreamed a Dream

I once dreamed a dream,
A long long time ago,
Sending you to the army,
A matter of pride for everyone in the town.

The last time you left,
Never in the world I knew,
It was the only time,
I would say goodbye.

They brought you back too soon,
Not in a way I wanted you to be,
For I didn’t know what fate had in store for me,
But I knew you had completed your duty,
As I had did mine.

A box of Kleenex later and I am in wonderment of all the father's that face this moment with Such strength, when if they would wail we would all sympathize! I felt his loss and pain! Congratulations on your win!
