I Dream of Betrayal
I DREAM OF BETRAYAL
I dreamt of you again
I thought all that was past
But there you were, recalling all that pain,
Just when I thought that I’d moved on at last.
You stood, arms open wide,
Inviting me once more to come inside,
Rekindling the love I thought had died.
You smiled that special smile,
And for a while
My heart forgot your ruthless guile.
But then, behind you, tall and vain
He stood; the villain of the cast
The one who’d snatched you from my side.
Please don’t come again, I’m too fragile.
