I Dont Mean to Pry But

I am not snoopy she said
But I noticed their past due notices
They were laying out where anyone could see them
This was a bit of a fib
You would have had to move a few things to see them

They are divorcing, it is public knowledge, she added
You can go to the tax office and see what they pay for their taxes
I have been up there to see what all the neighbors pay
I am not nosy, I am interested

Then she began asking me personal questions
Leading them with “I don’t mean to pry, but.”
“Then don’t pry, “I told her.
It was the end of our conversations.

Hello Caren, a good way to end the conversation. Hugs. /Darlene/
