I Do Not Entertain Old Guys
My family is busy, so I leave them alone.
They have young children all over the place.
Did they call? An old guy asks me daily, hourly, every second.
I roll my eyes. He has never taken care of children. He does not get it.
Are they coming over this weekend? I ignore him.
It is tiring answering the same thing over and over and over.
They have plenty to do, I tell him. They do not have to entertain us.
Of course, it would be great to have someone to entertain him.
I need some attention he says.
He is a four-year-old living in a sixty-eight-year-old body.
Sorry, I think. I do not entertain old guys.
Never have.
Never will
Because I can entertain myself.
