I Do

I awoke in her bed
Caressed by her eyes
Blanketed by her love
Her hand on my side
I could hear her whisper
The silence of her breath
Knowing she was speaking
The words inside my chest
I can count the heartbeats
Since the day we first met
Torn by our travels
The memories we missed
Do you remember the moment
When our lips first met
Did you hear me whisper
The words inside my chest
Sometimes I wonder
If those words will come true
And the next time I kiss you
You’ll say…I do
