I Display An Anger

Peek into my mind a bit
Can you hear the screams
Feels as though I have been hit
From deep within my dreams

My mind inside is tearing
It’s making me upset
Can’t keep myself from swearing
Or doing things I’ll regret

It feel like there’s a demon
Trapped within my head
I wish that I was dreaming
Or maybe even dead

Have you had the feeling
That you were possessed
Or just had trouble dealing

Never try to harm me
As I will harm you back
And then you shall see
I am some kind of whack

I display an anger
That shocks you to the core
I am not scared of danger
Can find it quite a bore

I have written out expressions
I have trapped inside
From deep within depressions
Of which I’ll never hide

Take me for who I am
And leave me to my own
This poem sure is a sham
I think that I have shown

There are times when anger can evoke feelings that make us long to seek revenge, but it is never worth the effort and only makes us smaller people. You have given us much to ponder, John, and motivation to find forgiveness for those who do us wrong. Excellent writing! Love, Carolyn
