Notes About The Poem

As you may have guessed, yes this is what today you would call a trilogy. However this is another rare form of poetry called "Progressive massage a trois" This form is attributed to the Marquis de Sade a French aristocrat who was a philosopher, a writer, poet, revolutionary, who wrote under his name and others. He was known also for his libertine sexual views.

The form is 3 poems, that progress from one concept to the next all with a common theme, for example,  short/medium/long or nature/science/life or witty/serious/contemplative and so on. The idea is you take a small idea and progress it in the direction you wish. Although no one knows if it was the Marquis de Sade, it is attributed to him more because it was a used form during his time, now weather he used this form under his own name or another, I leave that up to you and history!

I Died in Her Arms Tonight

I DIed in Her Arm

I Died in Her Teardrops

I Died In Her Teardrops

The Iraqi desert was blowing wind
The bullet tore into my heart
My Commander, she had but one arm
She pulled me to the ground
Holding me tight she saw
I would not make the night
So she did what any lover would
She held me tight
Whispered, "soldier I am with you till the end"
My last thought
Was I died in her arm
As her tears drops mixed with mine

Each of your writes are stand alone yet come together in an emotional trio. As always Arthur, your uniqueness takes the reader higher, and I am constantly climbing on a ladder to keep up. Wonderful collection my wise worded friend.
