I Didn't Mean That

Oops   oh   no
I didn’t mean that
   I mean
those words
   just slipped out
past my frozen lips
past my smiley face.

Toxic fumes   adrift 
   from a   smoldering fire
stomped upon   so many times
   yet burning   burn 
   again   and on it does
Shameful flames   of course of course
   those words
   angerspitebitterhate

Oh so   sorry 
Oh no
I didn’t mean that 
    No   not at all.
   those words
So sorry.
