I Didn'T Even Know You Were Married

I Didn’t Even Know You Were Married

By Elton Camp

I can still remember way back when
You saw a girl who had been a friend
And she said, “Here’s my baby Faye,”
Then this poem’s title you would say

And something like this she then said:
“I’ve been wed two years to hubby Fred.”
You respond the news you’re glad to hear
And then lavishly praise her little dear

Use that expression now if you dare,
Expect a sneer and incredulous stare
“How old fashioned can a person be?
Marriage doesn’t mean a thing to me.”

Robert, it's surely easy to say the wrong this. Especially risky is speculating on peoples' relationships, such as asking a young woman "And this must be your father," only to learn he's her husband. Elton

This poem reminded me of somebody I knew several years ago. We went into a go-go club one night, and he met this girl working there. He took her out a few times after that. A few months later, I asked him "Are you still seeing that go-go girl?" He replied "I married her". This writing has decent descriptiveness and rhyming.
