I Delight In Doing Nothing

There is a certain delight in doing absolutely nothing
In having a Day of Silence, in just being, without trying.
So many people have no idea what this is like.
They are not quiet at school, work, or at church.

I am teaching children to find their inner light
To respect and revere their inner truth
I am using silence and breathing techniques
So far most of them have enjoyed it, it has quieted their souls.

The ones who do not enjoy it did not follow the instructions.
They did not close their eyes, they did not relax.
They fought the activities the entire time.
Sadly, these are often the ones who need silence the most.

great observation, caren! i would have likely followed the instructions as a child, but not as an adult. i cannot relax and do nothing yet i could probably benefit from doing so...

I am most certain that is the case. Children need to be taught these techniques, but some children are being taught to question and the rebel against anything their teacher says or does. It's very sad!

It truly is.

Such moments of absolute calm are moments when we can focus on our inner light ! There is definitely beauty in times when we engage in nothing and we are free of all external and internal commotion. Beautifully said and agree with you cent percent, Caren !
