I Cried Out

I cried out to the four winds
Do your worst!
I said to the sun
More
I said to the rain
Less
My soul searches
Un-rested upon mountains
Lying in low valleys
Evermore
When shall I search no more
Time not existing
Sun never to burn out
Or rage in grandeur
Beware the nightjars
Might fly away with you
Don’t stay awake at night
