I Come From

I come from heartbreak and lies 
Backstabbing best friends and a brother who is on and off drugs 
I come from a place where sometimes I have to fake a smile to get through the day 
where in reality, I just want to hide in a dark room and drown myself in music to tune out the terrible world that we live in
But I chose not to, because you can't spend the rest of your life moping around 
Life is too short 
I’d rather laugh and act stupid with friends
forget about what is bad in my life.
Be grateful for what is good.
I come from a life no one will understand 
I come from myself
I come from me
I come from who I chose to be 
NOT what everyone says I WILL BE
I come from change
I come from understanding others and what is real 
and what I am capable of
I come from love, trust, family, friends 
and ME

Hey Sadie. Coming from a past doesn't define out future, but does give us something to write about. Take all those things that make you you and express them through poetry, it helps so much. And here you know someone will read your writes, someone will understand, and you can read others. Write on Sadie!
