I Chose
I know you wished I had chosen you,
For I wished you had chosen me,
It's not always the things that comes back that's yours,
But the ones that stay despite the uncertainty.
I saw no love in your eyes,
But I saw all your fancy,
Staying was not an option,
It would have destroyed us eventually.
Looking back, I made my choice,
A choice from my shackles to break free,
You didn't tie me down, you could never tie me down,
For love isn't a captivity.
I know you wished I picked you, loved you,
Like an act from something flimy,
But life isn't like in the reels,
You don't get to always be happy,
I chose to break my heart,
Bury it eternally,
I chose to break it all,
I chose reality.
I chose reality.
