I Carry Your Heart With Me
I knew when I opened my eyes,
That last night was my last night here.
I felt it in my soul, as I lay there,
Listening to the breathing next to me.
I cried in bed knowing this would be hard,
But when is love an easy thing?
I mustered just enough energy,
To get my things and leave.
Though I was crying on the inside,
I couldn’t answer why I was leaving.
I couldn’t even say goodbye,
I could only walk away.
And If I can’t have his heart,
Then no one can...
