I Carry Your Heart With Me

Nights my pillows float in rivers of heartbreak 
Chest burning from poured acid of anguish 
The caress of your touch aches, for it misses it
The remembrance of your kiss stings my memory like a prick from a thorn on a rose stem
I carry your heart with me for that is where my safe place lingered.
