I Care

If I stopped hurting you, would you stop hurting me?
Let’s work this problem out there’s so much at stake you see!

We’re both so much a like, yet we walk our different ways,
Finding each others faults seems to be the norm these last few days.

Everything I say to you seems to be taken wrong or so it seems,
What’s happened to our life’s, our hopes, our prayers, our dreams.

Let’s stop the things we’re doing and do what every it takes,
We’ve got too much to lose and I love you for heavens sake.

Let us bury our foolish pride, just lay it all aside,
I’m sorry for what I said it hurt me when you cried.

It doesn’t matter who started what, as long as we know what we did was wrong,
I just want to hold you close to me, and know our love is safe and strong.

You are the one I value most, the one I trusted with my heart,
Without you in my life, I wouldn’t know where to start.

When I first met you, somehow I knew you were the one,
And there are too many good years we’ve shared to let it come undone

So put back on your happy face, and let’s enjoy the life we share,
Let the tears drown out the anger, and push aside the pain and let me prove I love you and
that I really care.
