I Can’t Handle

I can’t handle
ornery
brooding
detachment
My parental figures
romantic
warm
close
Oh, they yelled
momentarily
harmlessly
humorously
(to me at least)
like when Dad
spilled sugar
sugar lips
martini cheers
against her urn
I can’t handle
grief
tears
a broken heart

Isn't it great that when we can't handle things...God takes over? Wonderful and thanks. Love, Blessings and Faith...

Mmm, you're sensitive! I am an introvert, think a lot about things, but I try to help people when I can. Dear Kim, I hope your loved ones know you as the gem you are.

Words cleverly woven into a tapestry of emotions make for a very effective free verse Kim. Cheers - Gary

A nice poem on unresolved emotional pain and familial memories in the poet's life.
