Notes About The Poem

How fed up are you with this presidential race? I'm really having a lot of fun.....Can't you tell?

I Can'T Believe the Ignorance

I Can't Believe the Ignorance
By Franklin Price

I can't believe the ignorance that in our candidates abounds
And how lacking in intelligence their conversation sounds

Both are an embarrassment from this observation made
Both make most our faces turn a deeper redder shade

One of them is subtle learned by years in Washington
The other is quite obvious and neither one is fun

One says what you want to hear whether true or not
The other spouts out stupid things and proves he doesn't care a lot

How is it that we got here, to create this place so wrong?
Through lack of interest by the parties. It's been going on so long

Disinterest in the last eight years; no handshakes 'cross the aisles
Nothing done of consequence, just check the laws and files

Many people thought the thought; nothing we can do of note
Why should we be involved at all, or go to the polls and vote

This has happened many years, longer than we'd like to think
Less voters to the polls each year, took this country to the brink

So much disenchantment with established party ways
That we picked a strange outsider to try to give us better days

He was outspoken from the start. Got media for free
Would make this country great again; the best for you and me

Ran as a Republican though didn't act as such
Enchanted many voters with his golden Midas touch

Brought in many voters; independents, RINOS too
Grasping for a welcome change for anything that's new

He won the nomination though he didn't make much sense
Better an outspoken ignorant than establishment that's dense

Now we have a liar and an ego maniac
I'm sure that either one that wins will have this country's back

It's frightening to think of either of them taking office. We need a hero to ride in and save the day -- like that's going to happen! We need to pray fervently for this country. Great write, Franklin! Blessings!
