I Can Dream

I can dream, can't I?
Everything old is new again,
all that was is now on rewind and repeat.
Look at history -
 we are immigrants,
 sojourners from our homeland,
it's a struggle and a strain
fighting for freedom's voice once again.
A land where everyone is equally the same
looking for a place to be free.
wasn't that America?.

It was once. Changes and attitudes born from reeducation policies seems to have altered that once proud dream. Yet it is ever longing in the human soul. Fav'ing your poem as it is a gem. And yes they cannot as of yet, stop one from dreaming. God bless.
