I Can
I was convincing myself of my incompetence.
When really, everyone was subtly cheering me on.
I thought it was clear that I was unable.
When really, they were confused-
There is guilt in staying idle.
Guilt that increases with time.
They used to encourage me when I was a shy child.
But now their words sound harsh as I have grown.
It is not guilt that inspires action-
But rather the screams of reality.
That to me is a whisper that is teaching me the path-
That prevents me from fading like the possibilities.
