A collaboration between Dear Heart and Jack Horne
I am standing at your grave again my darling,
a thousand times I have asked the Lord, why, oh why;
we were suppose to be growing old together,
now, I stand here weeping for a man who is gone.
Honey, I am watching over you and see all,
I see all of your tears and pain and sorrow;
Just remember, my love, I never really left,
I'm just in another room and waiting for you.
It has been said, the Lord has many rooms
in his house for you and me, and for us!
Oh darling, seems the struggle I face is all uphill,
but your spirit is within my soul saying go, go;
I will not be afraid, love, for the Lord walks with me,
and though dead, I will love you until I am dust.
Nothing, not even death could change my love for you,
although I can no longer hold you in my arms;
nor kiss your sweet lips, my kisses are the raindrops.
and my caresses are in the gentle breezes.
It has been said, the Lord has many rooms
in his house for you and me, and for us"
Be brave, my child, my arms will protect you ever,
each step you walk, I will be a shadow guiding;
no matter the path you take I will stay with you,
you can depend on me your Lord, forever.
