I Ask For Signs
I am not shy
when it comes to God
I ask for signs
eagerly without apology
a rainbow appears almost every year
on my birthday
my sign that he is listening
In sixty-eight years I only remember
One birthday without a rainbow
I was surprised but not disappointed
Today I asked for a sign
I received three
Three tiny bright orange butterflies
a falcon and a thunderstorm
all letting me know
He says I am on the right path
