I Ask

If there is no sickness
If no accident occur
If no one murders anybody
If one doesn't commit suicide
How long a man lives
I ask

If one goes to church every Sunday
If one reads the Bible everyday
If one commits no sin
If one does only good works
How soon a man dies
I ask

If there is no sadness
If one doesn't stumble
If one commits no mistake
If one doesn't suffer from a broken heart
How mundane love becomes
I ask

I ask these
Looking at your infinite eyes
All the days of my life
I ask
