I Am You: My Spirit
I am a Chinese waiter carrying lobsters
to a customer,
in a downtown restaurant.
I am an Indian dancing to the tunes
of the cosmic rhythm,
beating so intensely in his souls.
I am a child in the hands of terrorists;
I’m not sure whether I’ll live or die.
I am a mother who stares at the window
everyday,
hoping that one day her son will return from war.
I am part of everyone who has traveled from past,
taking different body forms of different
races, gender, classes, and beliefs
of different people.
I am still learning to embrace my soul
as it is, rather than following my thoughts
and emotions.
I am You….
