I Am Writing a Poem Today

I don’t know what I'm going to write,
And I don’t know what I am going to say,
But I've decided to write a poem today.

It might be silly and maybe sweet,
And I doubt it will sweep you off your feet-- 
But I've decided to write a poem today.

If I scratch my head and think out loud,
Perhaps it will rhyme and make me proud. 
If I swing to the rhythm, sway to the beat,
This poem might just move my feet.

Yes, I have decided to write a poem today.
