I Am What I Am
I am what I am, my pen is my voice
this is how God made me, it was not my choice.
I feel what I say, I say what I feel
I'm not an imposter, I strive to be real.
I may not be rich but I am not poor
I revere truth and beauty but honesty more.
I am often weak but I can be strong
I fight for what's right and against what is wrong.
I have many faults and, of course, imperfections
but I don't deal in lies or misdirections.
I am what I am, it is all I can be
I leave my heart open for all to see.
I know how to love and how to forgive
I'll maintain my integrity as long as I live.
I feel what I say and I say what I see
I am what I am and will always be.
