I Am Waiting
I am waiting for the day when my Lord will return.
I am waiting for the day when my neighbor loves me as he loves himself.
I am waiting for the day when everyone looks at my face and not my color.
I am waiting for the day when hypocrisy no longer slaps my face.
I am waiting for the day when slander and backbiting no longer hurts me from afar.
I am waiting for the day when my word is my bond and my handshake is my contract.
I am waiting for the day when the twinkle in a man’s eye is no longer connected to my wallet.
I am waiting for the day when mothers no longer take their babies lives.
I am waiting for the day when no one dies of starvation.
I am waiting for the day when mothers and fathers respect their
children and no child is abused.
I am waiting for the day when men appreciate and uphold their women and children.
I am waiting for the day when spouses love and respect one another.
I am waiting for the day when children honor and obey their parents.
I am waiting for the day when countries co-exist and no one is called to duty.
I am waiting for the day when no one goes to sleep with fear.
I am waiting for the day when evil is put to end and no longer stalks man.
I am waiting for the day when the Lord will return.
I can’t wait.
