I Am Trebor
Who am I?
My name is Robert
It was given to me
I didn't choose it
It is a common name
Too common
No true identity of its own
There are a thousand thousand who share it with me
If my name were different
Not as common
Would I be different?
Could another name make me smarter
More creative?
Or better looking?
I never had the chance to find out
I was named after another
He named me after him
Hoping that maybe I would be like him
I was not like him
I could not be like him
It was always as if I saw things differently
My world was not his black and white
I observed
I questioned
I saw colors, words and rhythm in everything
I was the opposite of him
Maybe he should have named me Trebor?
Then my life, my vision, my name
Would never be shared with anyone
