I Am the Carpenter

I am Joseph the Carpenter, husband of Mary,
I am the Carpenter, we were the chosen of many,
Angel Gabriel visited the Virgin Mary, Mother
Of Jesus, I was accepted as His legal Father,
We became parents sadly, our Saviour to bury.

Very nicely done, Jennifer. It is a limerick many will not understand any more, sadly.

But you do and a lovely reply thank you Caren - Joseph is not paid enough attention in the Bible, although I think I read he was sainted. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Your poem was great and I'm certain you will get more - Joseph is a character in the Bible who takes a back seat and I loven him for this. Hugs and kisses Panagiota, jennifer.

Hi Jennifer: In the days where promiscuity was a death sentence, Joseph was a hero that hardly mentioned. Great poem!

Hi Ralph, You are so right - Joseph must have felt some spiritual presence and must have loved Mary a lot, thanks for a wonderful comment - hugs Jennifer.

Thank you my dear Anne-Lise - Joseph is not remembered as often as Mother Mary so, thought I would dedicate a poem to Him, Jesus's earthly father! Thank you for your kind comment - hugs and blessings, Jenny.
