I am that I am

"a heartbeat pulsating as living light
free from each and every limitation
I Am that dwelling in unbound delight
the source wherefrom arises creation"

I study the void
conclude it is light it craves
become lost within my calculations
dimensions unspurl
spirals catastrophise
    until
 spinning
      cancels
itself out

and I am still

within my stillness I seek
    seeing no ground
 having no anchor

          it is me that craves
I fear I am the void

 should I internalise the vortex
      walk the line dizzy
   with hand unheld
          gamble on transformation
    to the entirety of light

see myself
     reflected on the outer edges
not through another lens
let the doppelganger
drop away

what if that

Dear Laurentine, as I read, I was thinking about how extraordinarily brave, dazzlingly complex, and spiritually daring a piece of metaphysical verse it is. Ending on that dangling, breathless cliffhanger, what if, leaves me suspended at the precise threshold of collapse and transformation. Blessings, Daniel

Haha you sure know how to leave a thrilling comment Daniel! I am delighted to receive such deep insight into my writing. I sat with the line of enquiry for a while before writing and then did feel a little daring! Thank you for taking the time to stop by - I appreciate it 😊

You know, a "piece" of me can relate to this. Powerpunch lines, raw, honest

Thank you so much Paige - one minute I was reading about Buddhism and the next I wrote this - I'm not quite sure how! Glad you liked it 😊

What if that! A profound question possibly the profoundest, best leave that one to seeker, but I see a realisation in your poem Laurentine, one many cosmologists are theorising about, (the holographic principle) that we are a 3d projection inside the void, projected from a flat surface on the edge of the cosmos, which your final stanza uncannily hits upon, so yes I dig it! and will fave it too, for sheer uncanniness, love the disorienting/stabilising effect throughout, so well written! cheers David

Oh I doubted my logic David but now I'm dizzy on your analysis! I felt rather bold ending with "what if that" but that's where it all landed and I'd have been undoing something to write another word (or so it felt!) seeing the void when I myself became light was an interesting one (especially as I was sat in the middle of a ninja play centre writing this!) that disorienting/stabilising was a heart in mouth thing to think through - felt so true (even without your amazing cosmic backdrop). You're a joy David - thank you for commenting 🥰

Would be a lie!!! So perhaps I wS doing wishful thinking. When I wrote my l i am what i am! 🤔 as it takes time to get there! I remember one of my annoying high school teachers told me ~ perfect practice makes perfect 😳 i really love the line "and I am still within my stillness I seek seeing no ground having no anchor" what if that what? Gawshies! You do introspection on a level That makes me go 😱 sorry for long comments! I just took my meds 😂 and I am in the mood to analyse! Perhaps it is time for me to see myself through what I am tryn to study too! My wishful thinking says it all maybe? 🤔 Brilliance! A fave!!!!!!!

what if that? Hmm I wonder... gosh what a line to end this with! I have been contemplating on this ~ the gamble if transformation last couple of minutes 😂 and there you are as always making everything make sense in one way or another! What i absolutely love about this poem is the way youv arranged lines to illustrate what your words did show! Not just tell. And its the honesty that I completely dig! Gosh speaking of dig! I miss someone saying " i dig that" 😱 well to say we have it all figured~

Haha thank you! I have a feeling I've never said "I dig that" though - so I might need demoting from favourite friend 😅
