I Am Thankful For
deliriously falling in love
believing in God from above
the miracle of a newborn cry
the blue colour of the sky
hands that are old and wrinkled
the glow of fireflies that twinkled
baked chocolate cookies still warm
the sound of thunderstorm
the magnificent shade from the towering trees
prayers and the peace I feel when on my knees
the unwavering loyalty of man’s best friend
living each day until my life comes to an end
