I Am Thankful For

I am thankful for clouds, earth, stars and sky.
Spiritual goodness and grace of outside.
Grateful for diversity, far and wide.
Children who respectfully question why.

I am thankful for a keen sense of creativity,
For imagination, and a liveliness to play.
I am thankful for a flexible proclivity,
With every single fiber and in every way.

I am thankful for health, and in the right to be free
Thankful for God’s blessings bestowed on me.
Grateful for the variety of people I can readily be.
Most of all, I am thankful for the opportunity to be me.

I take contests not too seriously as I know that all the poems that come in are terrific, and it is simply a matter of choice that minute, that day, for one weird reason or another. Luck of the moment, as oranges and fire trucks cannot be compared.
